Bridgeport Hospital: Salary Continuation Plans
Short-Term Disability Benefits-eligible employees may enroll in the short term disability (STD) program effective the first of the month following one year of benefit eligible service. The STD Plan provides a bi-weekly benefit of 60% of base salary. Sick time must be exhausted before this benefit is paid. Sick and STD combined can be paid for no longer than 6 months. If an employee expects to be out of work for more than 7 calendar days due to maternity, illness or injury, they must contact Aetna at 1-800-488-2386 to evaluate and certify their length of disability.
Long-Term Disability ProgramFull-Time benefits-eligible employees may enroll in the long-term disability (LTD) program effective the first of the month following one year of benefit eligible service. The LTD Plan provides a monthly benefit of 60% of base salary following a 6-month qualification period.
